The Ministerial agreement between the Department of Environmental Affairs and the Department of Mineral Resources will allow mining houses to make a single submission to one regulator. This new legislation is rumoured to reach implementation phase from 8 December 2014 that will provide a remedy to the calamity within industry.
For the 2015 edition, Intelligence Transfer Centre aims to provide an objective platform, through collaboration with key stakeholders within industry. The EnviroMining conference which is scheduled for 18 & 19 March 2015 will focus on in-depth studies to recent amendments to legislations such as the Air Quality Act , NEMA and MPRDA as well as Water Licensing procedures that you – the environment practitioner- need to know to avoid litigation by Government.
