Zambia Chamber of Mines’ diversification Indaba scheduled for September

The Zambia Chamber of Mines (ZCM) has announced that it will hold a conference to explore how the mining industry can contribute to creating the country’s workable economic diversification model.

The organisation’s acting chief executive officer, Talent Ng’andwe, says: “We are organising a diversification indaba which will draw participation from various industrial players in the economy to see how the Government’s goal of diversifying the economy can be realised.”

According to Ng’andwe, the recommendations from the conference would feed into the draft Seventh National Development Plan (SNDP) as well as the Vision 2030.

The conference is expected to attract top minds from the private and public sectors as well cooperating partners such as the African Development Bank (AfDB) and the World Bank.
