Owing to the success of its polished diamond auctions in June, JSE-listed De Beers’ auction sales business will run its next two polished diamond auctions on August 10 and August 24.
De Beers Auction Sales is a global business involved in negotiating the sale of rough diamonds to manufacturing, retailing and trading business buyers.
Headlining the events is a 15 ct internally flawless fancy vivid yellow rectangle brilliant, as well as a 2 ct fancy pinkish purple cushion.
Customer responded well to the initial auctions in June, where most polished diamonds directly from De Beers were sold.
The third-party exceptional polished diamond auctions also saw several of the flagship diamond lots on offer being sold, including the lead lot of a 7.21 ct D Colour flawless pear-shaped diamond.
Neil Ventura, De Beers auction sales Vice President said, “We been encouraged by the early reaction to auctions of our own polished diamonds and to our third-party exceptional auction sales,” said.
He added that the uptake of goods in the auction of De Beers’ dual-certified polished diamonds indicates that there is healthy demand for products with this additional layer of assurance.
